How do dogs naturally release toxins?
Some people might not know this but dogs do not sweat in the way we do. They need to pant to release the heat from their bodies and will "sweat" with their tongue. Also, they release oils through their paw pads and foot pads similar to what we would consider sweating. This is why a dog will wipe his paws on the grass after he does his duty. This is their way of leaving their scent where they marked their spot.
Why are a dogs paw pads so important?
A dogs paws are very important to them and their health as they are acting very similar to sweat glands. Imagine not being able to release the toxins in your own body, your skin would become oily and itchy, toxins would be building up daily. This is what happens when your dogs paw pads dry out. When this happens and it will cause your dog to start licking at their paws incessantly and later down the line start itching all over their body as their skin will begin to suffer. Certain breeds, such as German Shepherds, will have a tendency to have dry paw pads more often than other breeds. It's just part of their genetic disposition. That makes it extra important to be aware of paw protection as you do not want to encounter more problems down the line.
We love our dogs and we have always known about this issue but their was never a truly safe skin balm in the market for pets from our perspective. Most had ingredients that you could not pronounce and many were not safe for ingesting so pet owners with dogs who lick were not able to use those products. We wanted to create a paw balm that could do it all, and it was a lot of work, but we're happy to say it paid off!
How and Why did Innovet Pet Create a Dog paw balm?
When designing our dog paw balm we wanted to make sure that every single ingredient was safe. That said, when creating a salve for paw protection we knew we needed something that was safe to be ingested and soaked through the skin. A dog paw is also very sensitive so we needed to make sure each component of the salve was soothing for your pet. We avoided anything that could irritate as it was applied. Also, It needed to be a consistent compound that was perfectly blended with a carrier oil leading to the ideal consistency, a quick absorption rate, and not too oily. No need to have it lingering on the outside of the skin and getting on you, your furniture, etc.
We designed our Healing dog paw Balm with 14 high-quality ingredients — all with research backing their abilities. Using hemp oil and avocado seed oil as our carrier oils, this proved to be the best performing in test after test. How is the Heal. Wag. Protect Dog paw balm made?
Hemp Extract is the main ingredient
One of our greatest additions to this dog paw balm is the hemp extract. Hemp Extract has been shown to work outstanding topically and with this balm we wanted to make sure it could help the skin but also the surrounding joints as well. Adding eucalyptus to the salve made it possible for the ingredients within the balm to break through the epidermis, or first layer. This allowed the healing properties of hemp extract to get in deeper and assist in joint repair as well as dermal repair. Combined with our carrier oils we added apricot kernel oil, jojoba oil, beeswax, St. Johns wort, cramp bark, white willow bark, chamomile, rosemary leaf extract, lavender and lemon peel oil. That is the extent of our product ingredients, all-natural, known for healing and calming properties.
This dog paw balm been formulated specifically for quick absorption and goes to work immediately. My dog is hard on his paw pads. He has bad arthritis in his front logs and pretty much walks with his front left foot flat all the way up to the Dee claw and this has created another makeshift pad on that foot. Innnovet Pet's Dog Hemp Balm is absolutely amazing! I've tried everything with my furbaby's reoccurring hot spots, but as soon as I got this product I gave it a try and low and behold, after one day there was an incredible and noticeable difference, and within 48 hours the hot spots were pretty much healed and have not come back!
